Close and personal encounters over the last few years have heightened my awareness of how important the proper care can be to those in need and their families. Boating for The Cure is an opportunity for all of us, in a small way to pay it forward and help those who are struggling or affected by cancer.
Boating for the Cure is a family boating rally that is being held June 25th on Lake Muskoka. The event starts and finishes in Gravenhurst Bay where there is a public ramp, dockage and lots of parking. The day starts at the Grace and Speed Boat Museum with a continental breakfast, lunch and live music at Pride of Rosseau, finishing with food and drink from Lake of Bays Brewing Company back at Grace and Speed. There is a silent auction and an awards ceremony where we will present prizes for the best dressed/decorated and most enthusiastic boat as well as the largest donors.
I encourage you to join the fight and enjoy a day on the water for a great cause by registering your own team and boating in the rally. Or if you are not able to make the date and would like to support Team WakeJam as we Surf for the Cure, you can make a pledge to team WakeJam at http://www.boatingforthecure.com/campaign/view/wakejam.
It is a great day out on the water and the proceeds support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and Prostate Cancer Canada.
