On July 8-9th, Winnipeg will welcome 60 of the best cable wakeboarders from all over the world including Canada, Germany, USA and Israel for the first stop of the World Wakeboard Association (WWA) Wake Park World Series and the Monster Energy Wake Park Triple Crown. Riders can compete in a variety of different competitions including Pro-Men, Pro-Women, Obstacles Only and Wakeskate.

New for 2011, the WWA has stated that they have increased the prize purse for the Obstacles Only event to attract more competitors from the traditional WWA Wakeboard Tour known for their rail riding abilities. With the heavier competition and the new Unit Park Tech features, the level of riding at this year’s tour should increase and Winnipegers will be the first to witness the results of this increase.

Entertainment for Friday night is dubbed as an all out DJ Bash and Saturday night, look forward to local hip-hop artists Rebel Yell and The Lytics. Swollen Members will headline the party. 

WWA World Series competitors will continue the tour at Protest Cable Call in Netherlands, and then Telekom Extreme Playgrounds in Germany. The location of the final competition has not yet been announced.

Competitors of the Monster Energy Wake Park Triple Crown will travel to Tampa to compete at McCormicks and then Texas at the Hydrous-Allen Wake Park.
