Bungle in the Jungle

On September 5th, fourteen of Ontario’s top wakeskaters stopped by Basecamp for the first annual Bungle in the Jungle rail jam. The day started out with high winds and cold temperatures but as practice came to a close we were granted with a little sunshine and some calm water. The group of fourteen wakeskaters were broken down into three heats. The Qualifying rounds were pretty heated with great runs thrown down by Jay Poole, Jordan Sullivan, Dan Brown and Adam Lewis. Finals was where the true riding came out. Jordan Sullivan threw down a stand up run with a back lip shuv and back board 270 shuv off the up box. As did Scott Boysen with a boosty half cab off the kicker and a variety of pretzels off of the rails. It was Dan Brown and Addison Farr who battled it out for first and second. Dan rode first and threw down an amazing run worthy of toe jam finals, with 360’s off the kicker shuvs and bigspins off the rails and a variety of flats tricks including a kickflip and varial flip. Addison Farr rode next and came out swinging with a 270 on the rail 90 out, frontbig off the box, some flat tricks and a stylish backlip and frontside boardslide on the new Nike 6.0 long box. But it was Dan Brown who walked away as the first Bungle in the Jungle Champion with a bucket of Cash and Bragging rights.
