The 2nd annual Brooklyn fair winch jam went off without a complaint. Good weather, great fair and a pretty solid winch setup.
Both wakeskaters and wakeboarders came out this weekend to hit this pool to pool jam. The setup was a flat bar on the left and an up to flat box on the right. Friday the wakeboaders met to be the first to hit the rails and start the contest off. They had warm ups in the morning and then went right into the contest around 5. With tons of swag being thrown out and good music the crowd was pumped to see the $500 cash prize given out to the best overall rider and a Ronix handle given out to best trick. At the end of the day it was Darien Znebel as best overall rider and Andy Milovanovic with the best trick.
Saturday the skaters came out to step it up and kill the rails, with some old and new faces kicking around it was bound to be a good jam. Jordan Sullivan, a new kid to the scene, came out with a banger frontboard 270 shuv out on the box. Vince Whiteman took home the best trick title dancing his way across the box with a backboard shuv over the kink to back 180 out. Winning the contest and $500 for the second year in a row was Nic Harlos.
Sunday was the Amateur competition. Both wakeskaters and wakeboaders had a chance to go for some prizes. Sunday was arranged the same as the first two day with best overall and best trick. The best overall won $100 which went to Gavin Hicks and the best trick won a pair of Anon sunglasses and a Dogbowl Boards skate deck which was a tie between Jordan Sullivan and Brady Hicks.
A big thanks goes out to Blank Creative & Mistaken Agency for putting this jam together. I can’t wait to see more in the future.
