Wakesurfing has grown tremendously in popularity over the past 3-4 seasons. The boards are a hybrid between a traditional surf board and a thinner quicker skim board. Wakesurfing is very similar to surfing on the ocean with the addition of a perfect endless wave. By weighting the boat up with ballast you are able to let go of the rope and surf this continuous wave. Riders stand between 5 and 10 feet from the rear of the boat and ride at speeds between 8 and 12 mph. This also offers a lower impact, slower speed sport for people of all ages. Surfing is only safe behind an inboard boat as the platform protects riders from the propeller and produces enough wake size to ride.
