Celebrating its 52nd year of operation, the Toronto International Boat Show was yet again another success.
Nine straight days at the Direct Energy Center showcasing over 1500 boats, hundreds of booths, and most importantly North America’s largest indoor lake, fed with over 1 million gallons of untreated, 42 degree Lake Ontario water. Most people don’t realize that the indoor lake was situated directly above the Marlies home ice, keeping the lake chilled all week long at a crisp, cool, slightly above zero temperature.
The 200 foot winch pull across the arena floor allowed riders to session the kicker, table top, and flat bar feature, in front of hundreds of people in an arena setting. This has completely changed the sport's regular scenery of endless lakes, rivers, damns and ditches into a circus style event designed for the public.
Inspired by Canada’s ever-growing urban wake scene, the Covert Winch was unveiled. The show ran with an undeniably positive vibe, showing Canada's ability to throw quality wake events, produce top riders and develop leading edge products.
